Annual dinners

Annual dinners are something to look forward to. Before my current job, the only annual dinner I had ever attended was with the Ban Hin Lee Bank in January 1995, just right after my STPM. After that, I went back to study and it was another 9 years before I got the opportunity to attend one again. the previous companies I worked for either didn't have such gathering or I wasn't able to attend it. The closest thing to attending an annual dinner then was the staff party by Giordano in 2001 but I was away in Singapore for a month in a so-called attachment training. This time however, I am delighted to have not 1, but 2 annual dinners to attend.

As usual, my office is organising the annual dinner in January and there's a different theme for every year. in 2004, it was "Shanghai Nite" at Sunway and 2005 we had "Arabian Night" at Le Meridian. Both times I had a nice experience- 2004 I won the Best Dressed Male Award and the 2nd prize of the lucky draw(a Siemen washing machine which we are currently using) while early this year I came in third in the company idol competition(like the last Malaysian Idol competition, I lost because the winning group had 1.2 million votes) and I was one of the finalists for Best Dressed Male Award. Come this 14th January, the theme is "Latin Fiesta" and it will be held at the Grand Plaza Park Royal. I think most of the people will be going for latin dance costumes, but I will just go as Zorro. After all, I look hot in black I think I have the built to carry the character well.

Arabian Night- gf was still in the same company then...

As for the 2nd annual dinner, it's happening tomorrow at Sunway and it's Fitness First. The theme is "Night of the Stars"- think Oscar, think Academy Awards, think glamour. I was initially thinking of renting a tuxedo for the event but I just don't have the time to look for one. So, I'll just wear my coat lah. It's funny to note the contrast of the 2 annual dinners: 1 group of people so used to be so uptightwearing formal wear will be going crazy with fancy costumes while another group who usually look sporty/casual will try to look corporate for once.

Anyway, I do hope to win something again this time, be it Fitness First or the other company. For the other company, the first prizes of the lucky draw two years in a row have been huge screen TVs, so it would be nice to win one too. As for FF, I don't know what to expect but I think it will be great to see the instructors, especially the ladies, all dressed to the nines.

There should be loads of pictures to blog about on Friday... Stay tuned!

How to find me...

After looking at Leonard for a couple of times, I have decided to copy his way of promoting his classes.

So I've added a link just below my profile, and any Fitness First member who is interested to join me in the class can find me at the time and gym stated. I just hope that no one uses this to stalk me...

Anyway you can click here as well.

A Carol at the Heart of Every Christmas

Come this Dec 25th I will be singing in a small choir for Christmas.

It's been quite a while since I participated in a Christmas presentation and It sort of brings back some good memories of my previous participation.

New church

This year it's no more Penang Christian Centre but Revival Centre Kuala Lumpur. Gone are the days when, as a youth, Christmas and Easter were the busiest time of the year. Back then the celebrations were handled by the then youth pastor Pastor Felix Chuah. So, it's hardly surprising that the moving force behind each celebration(besides the spiritual aspect) were the youth and young adults, some taking up multiple responsibilities and roles. Gradually the celebrations began to include the participation of children and adults because the young adults complained that it was too heavy to carry a youth pretending he/she was a baby the church was looking at giving everyone to be involved in the ministry.

Coming back from Sydney, I helped out in one Easter programme "A.D. 33"(which was the first time the church did a fully fledged comedy) before I went to work in the Klang Valley. It would be another 2 years before I helped in another Easter show, this time playing the part I enjoyed most- Satan. I'd played God, a roman soldier, a disciple, and a detective before; so, taking a devilish role is the one I'd been yearning for. Basically I just play myself anyway.

I've helped in a couple more since then but this year it's gonna a new experience with a new church. It's not a big scale thing like PCC does on a regular basis but it's still a meaningful celebration. In God's eyes, what matters is the heart.

No Oscar, no MJ

I'm so used to doing drama and dancing with PCC. My first role was playing God the Father in a 1990 Christmas production "A Tale Of Two Kingdoms" and first dance was playing the banners in 1991 PCC's 10th anniversary celebration(so the banners danced on my behalf, okay?)

Among the most challenging responsibilities I have even entrusted with was the choreographer/dancer for the 1996 Christmas hip-hop dance "Who's in da house" and the director/co-writer for the 2003 Easter drama "The Contract"(the programme was postponed due to the SARS outbreak and later we had it as our in house anniversary celebration instead). It was definitely the more stressful projectss to undertake. As a performer, you just have to make yourself present during the practice and do whatever you're asked to do. As a choreographer/director/writer, the work starts months before the actors/dancers were notified of the presentation. Thanks to the assistance and suggestions of the people around me, we were able to get the work done. The hip hop number was quite funky and we look quite cool, sort of made the hard work worthwhile.

I particularly appreciated the suggestion of Pastor Lydia that we did a parody of her hubby Rev. Isaac in "The Contract". We had a fruitcake playing Pastor Charlie Chan in the drama, with fake moustache, wearing white shirt with a red tie- the usual thing the reverand wears on Sundays. Credit must be given to the fruitcake for doing one heck of a good job poking fun of the senior pastor- he even studied the manner the senior pastor moved around the pulpit area. It'll be nice if SOMEONE*hint-hint* can send me the pictures of the parody and the senior pastor...

This year Revival Centre is doing a musical and my role is that of a choir singer. The first and last time I did choir was in 1997 in Sydney, celebrating Sydney Christian Life Centre's anniversary(it has sinced merged with Hills Christian Life Centre and renamed Hillsong Church). Then we were only presenting one song "Hallelujah Chorus" but it was really fun and challenging. This time, however, we have 6 songs to work with. The songs may not be as hard as the Hallelujah Chorus but it's gonna stretch our vocal chords singing for about 30 minutes. Another challenge is that I've been abusing my vocal chords a lot since I started teaching at the gyms- I lose my voice on a regular basis, esp. when the mics aren't working.

Well, just have to keep reminding myself not to shout that much...

Singing with GF

It's kinda of funny that this is the first time I'm participating in a presentation with my gf. Funny, as in I have never participated in a Christmas/Easter/whatever programmes with any of my exes. So this should be a good trend to start with her. Last Sunday we even practiced at her place because I needed a piano's help in some parts. Hope to get more opportunities to do this with her in future.

On another note, I've been slotted to play drums on 18 Dec- my first touch since I moved here in January. It will be both exciting and unnerving... rusty hands haven't hit a drum set for so long already leh!

All in all, it will be a very eventful December!!!

Attacking Axis

Last Saturday was the final leg of the week long BODYATTACK® launch and the final stop was Fitness First Menara Axis.

Top for sale at RM25.... still available the last time I check

The class was scheduled for 2pm and when I reached there at 1pm, there were already quite a lot of people waiting for the registration to begin. After chit chatting for a while, I realised that the members were not as kiasu as I had expected- nobody was lining up at the front desk. Even with 10 mins left before they open the registration, still no queue. So I did everyone the next best thing- I asked a few members to stand with me at the front desk.... and the rest of the world finally got the hint and joined the cue queue.

This is another queue to enter the main studio...

Your instructors for the afternoon(in alphabetical order): Jacqueline, Jeremy, Peter and Riyo.

The final discussion...

Oh, FF's most famous goatee member was able to make it for the class.

So smart of him to wear orange... hard not to notice him in the class

As expected, the class was full- some didn't even get a spot because they were 2-3 mins late. I was supposed to join the class as well, but since it was my off day and I'd been booked to watch a movie with gf later, I decided to just go there to see fatboy suffer the fun... And since I had nothing much to do, I was asked to help out in the video camera department.

Here we go!

Watching the class was something. The members were really into it- at least most of them were. Some had been doing BODYATTACK® since Wed's launch at The Curve, while for some, this was their first time doing the most intense Les Mills programme.

Members moving to the beat

The thing about BODYATTACK® is it has a push up as a recovery track halfway through the workout- you normally get push up tracks at the end of BODYSTEP® or BODYCOMBAT® but never halfway.

Just in case you think this a simple push up... FYI, the track is about 5 min and you basically spend most of the time doing variations of the push up. It's not a pleasant experience actually.. but darn challanging for the instructors!

After a short "recovery", the class went back into high gear and 4 more calorie killers.

Pony hop to the music "Cherry Bomb"... notice the guy in orange again

For the last track before the cool down, we got a lower body toning track. I was talking to this member named Albert right before the class. He's been coming back again and again since the launch. Wow...

After a challanging and tough workout, what better to end the class than a beautiful song "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson. For a better recap of the class, click here for a member's point of view- please have a dictionary beside you though.

We all made it... barely

I had fun watching the class, esp. with the video camera I could zoom in to the facial expression of the members. Basically there were 2 catagories of people in the class:

1) those who were really challenged by the workout
2) those were just hoping for it to end as soon as possible.

I'm not trying to make fun of anyone here because I think if I were working out then, I would have fallen into the 2nd catagories too actually... Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and pull yourself through. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to the challenge and I will probably with shadowing soon at Menara Axis(hopfully) with Jeremy and leng lui- I've already booked 10 Dec to shadow teach with Eric and Jackson at FF Cheras Leisure Mall.

Thanks for coming... see ya in the next class!

Finally, I took this short video for some of you who have never been to a group-x class before. You also get to see what could happen if Peter was in charge of traffic during rush hour(update: watch out for a certain guy in orange running like a headless chicken).

Finally, gym stuff again

After more than a week of not blogging about gym, it's time to go back to the topic.

BODYATTACK® has finally arrived at Fitness First!

The first place to kickstart it was FF Island Plaza on Tuesday and yesterday it was FF The Curve. I have yet to get any info on the Penang launch but according to a little bird, 75 members managed to get themselves signed up for the launch at The Curve. In fact, a few had to be turned away...

So how did it go? I'm sure the instructors had a ball, but what about the members? Well, here are some comments...

"Went for launch today at curve. damn tiring man this thing. almost fainted. I think i am gonna be a fan of BA...."
-Pei

"I did half class oledi(sic) dying. haha... Last nite taught by Jac, Riyo, Lynn & Jeremy. Jacqueline very good in all movements. like to c(sic) her doing it. I think coming Sat in Axis will b(sic) same instructors gua(sic)."
-Shirlyn

Keywords in BODYATTACK®: tiring, fainted, dying- no kidding. Actually it's very challenging and you just have to try it at least once instead of passing it as being too difficult.

FF members, you still have today, Friday and Saturday to try out BODYATTACK® at FF Wisma SPK, FF Cheras Leisure Mall, FF Menara Summit and FF Menara Axis. Whatever you do, please be there early coz there will A LOT of people going for the classes. If you are not a member but you're interested, do check out the website and for contact details of a Fitness First near you.

Monkey see monkey do?

Something I got from through the email this morning:

There was once a hat-seller who passed by a forest on his way back from the market. The weather was very hot and so he decided to take a nap under one of the trees, so he left his whole basket of hats by the side.

A few hours later, he woke up by some sounds. The next thing he realized was that all his hats was gone. He heard some monkeys on the tree and so he looked up. To his surprise, the tree was full of monkeys and they had taken all his hats. The hat-seller sits down and think of how he can get the hats down. He think and think and start scratching his head. The next moment, he realized that the monkeys were doing the same action. Next, he took down his own hat and saw the monkeys do exactly the same. An idea came to him, he took his hat and throw it on the floor and themonkeys do that too. So he finally managed to get all his hats back.

If you think you have read this before....., read on!!!

Fifty years later, his grandson, Jack, also became a hat-seller and had heard this monkey story from his grandfather. One day, just like his grandfather, he passed by the same forest, it was very hot, and he took a nap under the same tree and left the hats on the floor. He woke up and realized that all his hats were gone. He looked up and realized that the monkeys had taken all the hats.

He remembered his grandfather's words, started scratching his head and the monkeys follows. He took down his hat and fanned himself and again the monkeys followed. Now, very convinced of his grandfather's idea, Jack threw his hat on the floor but to his surprise, the monkeys still hold on to all the hats.

Then one monkey climbed down the tree, grabbed the hat on the floor, gave him a slap and said "You think only you have a grandfather?"

Saturday activity

This is how I look and feel last Saturday morning.

Depressing...

It's supposed to be my precious day off... but some wise guys my day job management decided to have a team building course at Marriott Putrajaya.

Normally I start work at 8am, but because it's a team building activity, ALL employees were required to be at the office by 7.45am to take the bus to Putrajaya together. Attendance was compulsory...*sigh*

At the entrance of Marriott- note that we had to wear the company shirts.

The course was conducted by this Dato' Lawrence Chan Kum Peng of Personal Development Leadership Management Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd(he claimed that he didn't buy the Datukship).

Dato' Chan and his team

We were each given a workbook and the first page he blew his own horn listed his accolades. Besides being an author of some best selling books, he is the recipient of numerous outstanding awards including: -
  • Top Sales Achievement Award (USA) in 1972.
  • Best Sales and Training Consultant Award (USA) in 1973.
  • Distinguished Leadership Award (USA) in 1984.
  • "The Outstanding Young Malaysian" Award in 1985 by Junior Chamber Malaysia and Business Times as the main sponsor.
  • Silver Medal of Honor for Outstanding Achievement and Dedication to Personal and Professional Goals (USA) in 1984.
  • Inductee of the world famous "Hall-of-Fame for Distinguished Leaders" (USA) in 1986.
  • Certificate of World Leadership (Cambridge, England) in 1987.
  • Honours List of International Leaders in Achievement in 1988, Cambridge, England.
  • The very prestigious "Certified Speaking Professional (C.S.P.)" Designation (first and only Asian to be awarded) by the National Speakers Association, USA in July 1988. This designation is awarded to certain dedicated professionals with proven track records of continuing speaking excellence. There are only 300 professional speakers and trainers in the world who have earned this professional designation.
  • The title "Most Admired Man of the Decade" by the American Biographical Institute, USA in 1992.
  • The "World Life-time Achievement" Award by the American Biographical Institute, USA in 1993.
  • Due to his outstanding services and contributions to numerous Malaysians, Society and Country in April, 1995, The Sultan of Perak and the 9th King of Malaysia, Sultan Azlan Shah, on his 67th birthday conferred the "DARJAH DATO' PADUKA MAHKOTA PERAK (D.P.M.P.)" which carries the very prestigious title of Dato' to him.
  • In December 1997, the International Biographical Association, Cambridge England, honoured him with the title "The International Man of the Year 1997".
  • He was conferred the Fellowship Award of Institute of Marketing Malaysia presented by Her Royal Highness Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom, The Sultanah of Pahang.
  • In January 2004, he was appointed as an Advisor of Institute of Marketing Malaysia by Dato' Seri Rafidah Aziz, Minister of International Trade and Industry
Sounds quite powderful impressive.

Anyhow, the main activities are actually playing some specific games to boost the coorperation among the colleagues. We were divided into 6 teams: Achievers, Best, Champion, Dynamic, Excllence, First and we were given the choice to rename ourselves. Being in team Best, it was quite natural that we re-christened ourselves BEST OF THE BEST. Some were more adventurous with names like Flaming Champion, Dynamites Team, Soaring Eagles and Funstatic 18(sounds quite adult-orientated). Team Achievers decided to stick with the name. We also had to make our own flag and do our own battle cry/cheer(typical part of team building).

Our flag- it does look like we're selling kacang hor...

I wasn't involved in making the flag but for the battle cry, a couple of the team mates were asking me for ideas. So I try to incorporate the Maori Haka(inspired by the BODYCOMBAT® 13 cooldown) into our batter battle cry. After showing them what I had in mind, they thought it was a bit too hard for the old people in the team complicated for everyone. So I modified it into something easier which went:

Best of the Best(hands hitting the elbows like the cooldown- no wide leg stance anymore)
We'll pass all test(raising right hand to the side)
We're always the Best(two thumbs up)
And we'll beat the rest!!!(right fist onto the left palm while stomping the right foot)

Actually this is the revised version. The original version I suggested was:

Best of the Best
We'll beat the rest
We''ll pass the test
and whip their ass!!

Too bad the team couldn't appreciate such poetry and it was shot down.

I was asked to lead the cheer...

To cut the story short, at the end of the day we were truly the BEST OF THE BEST. We had 5 games to play and the only two games we didn't do that well were the first and the last while the remaining games we basically whipped the other teams' arses rear ends. Flaming Champions ended last, Achievers didn't achieve much, Soaring Eagles failed to soar, while the Dynamites blasted themselves away. The stiffest challenge came from Funtastic 18 but eventually we just showed them how to have fun and still win.

We are the BEST OF THE BEST!!

Overall, I think it's a wonderful effort to get EVERYONE together, but MUST WE DO IT ON A SATURDAY? By the time I went back home it was almost 10pm, never mind how the good the food was. I was SO hoping the country manager would announce that the winning team will get one day off on Monday...

I wanna be a fatboy gain weight

Last Sunday after my combat class, I got a comment from a member who had not been in my class for a while.

"Lei sau cho hou tor!"(You lost a lot weight!)

Her friend Carlos also nodded in agreement.... Arrgh!(I was thinking of blogging about Carlos at the end but on 2nd thought, he deserves a seperate entry)

Actually ever since I came to KL, I've been losing weight- not because I have been eating less, but I've been working out more. I've tried to eat more in fact but still every now and then people would comment, " You lost weight again ah?"

So today, I'm making a couple of resolutions:

1. I will take my Ensure religiously

I bought it earlier this year but so far I've not been taking it consistently. This nutritional powder is NOT a muscle builder but it's supposed to provide "complete and balanced nutrition for use as a meal replacement, tube feeding or as a nutritional supplement"- the basic stuff you give to terminal patients.

Anyhow, my resolution is to take it in the afternoon, mixing it with 3-in-1 Milo. Ensure sure tastes a lot better than the whey & egg powder I used to take when I started going to gym in Sydney, but I'm not a vanilla person. I'll just finish this and buy a chocolate flavoured one.

2. I will eat more protein and not just carbohydrate

Gf said that the reason I'm losing weight is because I'm not eating enough protein- char koay teow at Paramout PJ may be nice but the carbo I eat during lunch is normally used up by the end of my second class. Therefore, I should take more protein like tofu and meat for lunch instead.

Aitelyu, I think I can blame my loss of weight to the fact that this lady at SS2 food court has not been operating her western food stall for more than a month. I used to eat fish n' chips with gf after my tuesday axis classes but she's not around all this while- apparently she's taking care of her daughter who just delivered(according to another stall owner) but it's been more than a month already leh! Today we're going there again and if she's not around still, I'm going to order from the other stall even though the guy's tartar sauce sucks isn't that nice.

3. I will eat supper every now and then

I used to be a strong advocate against supper, but not anymore I think. Supper is probably the most unhealthy meal because Malaysians in general love the mamak food to death, espeically the roti canai and curry stuff. At the rate I'm going, I think eating nasi kandar/roti canai could probably do me good.

4. I will pretend to work hard in class

Just as much as I want to make the fourth resolution, I don't think this can ever be achieved. The moment I step in the class and the music starts, I become someone else- an instructor. My sole purpose standing/sitting in front is to inspire and motivate the members, who came not to get a half-hearted instructor showing them how to work hard, but a dedicated instructor who works hard with them. When I see the members, I somehow forget about how bad the day has been or how tired I am, and just give them the best I could give.

No, it's not a commitment. It's more than that.... it's a PASSION.

5. I will hang around thin people to make me look fatter

Malaysai Boleh!

Yesterday after class, I was walking around Giant Supermarket at Cheras Leisure Mall with gf and I saw something that caught my eyes.

it says quality Australian milk... yippee!

During my time in Sydney, I have grown to love Aussie milk(never mind that I'm lactose intolerant) because it tastes so much better than the ones we have in Malaysia. I was contemplating to buy it when I turned to the side to read where it was coming from.

Buatan Malaysia?

It's amazing to see how much we as a nation has progressed: not only we can make our own cars and motorcycles, we now can produce AUSTRALIAN milk on our own as well without importing from Australia.

Malaysia Boleh!

I felt so naked yesterday

Normally I wake up somewhere betweeen 6.45am and 7am to go to work, but yesterday I overslept and woke up at about 7.20am... "S***! I'm late for work!!!!" (work starts at 8am, you see).

Heck, I had not even packed for gym yet! So I really rushed like a mad bull, grabbing whatever top/shorts/pants I could find and stuff them all into my bag, forgetting my wraps for BODYCOMBAT®. I didn't even have time to wash my face- just brushed my teeth and combed my hair, not before I changed into my office gear, of course.

By the time I got into the it was already 7.40am...I was a bit relieved- because of the long school break , going from Bandar Menjalara to Jln 223, PJ should take about just less than 20 mins(If school were on, it would've taken me 30-45 mins!!)

As I drove my car, I just realised that I didn't bring my phone out and by then it was already too late to turn back. So the whole day I was feeling a bit awkward... I've got so used to having a mobile phone around that it almost felt like I didn't wear my underwear to work(I checked in the toilet- my underwear was on, so it must be because of the phone). I informed my gf that I was phone-less for the day but my concern was what if OCD brother wanted to contact me for something urgent like buying supper for him. Also, if any of the Fitness First GXCs should need help to cover classes I would have been unreachable(not that I could be of much help to them since I have classes everyday except Saturday).

Anyhow, by the time I got home and checked the phone... NO ONE CALLED EXCEPT MY GF! Of course I appreciate my gf checking if I'd reached home safely but... Am I that unpopular? Darn, the only SMS I got was from Maxis telling me that my usage has reached RM75. *sigh*

Anyhow, classes at FF Wisma Consplant were good. Although for the first time in many months the RPM® class wasn't full, the BODYCOMBAT® class had a good response. Finally got to meet Leech again who earlier blog about my hot pants. There were a couple of chinese nationals attending my class for the first time too(Actually didn't know they were foreigners till I spoke with them later- recommended them to join my fav BODYCOMBAT® instructor Terence's class.)

Today I'm taking a break from teaching at FF Damansara Uptown. Instead, I will be heading first to FF Menara John Hancock to say "goodbye/thank you" to the members who had been supporting me during my time there, and apologize that I had to move to FF Damansara Uptown(something sort of unavoidable). After that, a couple of instructors and I have tuition with Jeremy, the BODYATTACK® head teacher, FF Menara Axis at 8pm- It'll be my first time doing BODYATTACK® again since my finished my training on 26 Oct.

Speaking of BODYATTACK®, the launch will begin on 22 Oct, starting with FF Island Plaza Penang. Even though I am not involved in the lunch launch, I will most likely attend the 2pm class on 26 Nov at FF Menara Axis. Oh, my fav fatboy BODYPUMP® participant will be there too...

Sue you, Sue me

Appeal for fund

Wingz under attack!!!

The fashionable phrase is "See you in court!"

Can a blogger sue another blogger?

Malaysian Bloggers Gone Bad

Blogger seeks day in court

Wingz VS Kahsoon - Round1: Fight!

I actually copy and paste most of the links from Wingz. Maybe I should put a disclaimer here also, but lazy lah... Don't sue me, okay?

I want a mobile phone too!

It's amazing how parents are bribing rewarding their children nowadays for good results.

I envy Chan Wendy, not for doing well in the UPSR, but getting a RM2000 camera phone as a reward for her 7As achievement. Darn, I've been working for 6 years and the most expensive I have bought is not even half the value! The most expensive I have had is the current free Motorola v975 from Wall's- a colleague just perli that it doesn't even have bluetooth or infra red.

I don't think I got anything from my parents for my standard 5 exams(those days we didn't have UPSR). But I do know what I would've gotten if I didn't do well- the cane.

Speaking of the cane, we call it "tina"- is it a loan word from Malay? I remember when I was small, whenever my mom was about to bring out the "tina", my brother(s) would sing "tina lai liao, tina lai liao, tina lai liao, pha Ah Su.... tina lai liao, tina lai liao, tina lai liao, pha Ah Su!"(basically it means the cane is coming for my arse) to the tune of My Darling Clementine. Such is the sibling support I get... *sigh*

Anyhow, back to Chan Wendy. For great results in UPSR she gets an expensive camera phone... what about PMR? SPM? STPM or A-levels?

plasma TV? Car? House? Mail order husband?

Don't do drugs and alcohol

This is a follow up on WWE Superstar Eddie Guerrero's passing. Even though he had been clean for years, the past sort of caught up with him- he passed away due to heart failure brought on by past drug and alcohol abuse.

You can read more of his widow Vicki Guerrero's comment here.

Last night on Astro Channel 80, there was an beautiful Raw tribute show for Eddie. Batista talked about sharing his problems with Eddie, and how Eddie encouraged him with Bible verses. Rey Mysterio spoke of the closeness of their families. Stephanie McMahon remembered her first meeting with him and noticed how humble he was while Shawn Michaels talked about their common faith as born again christians. It was definitely a very emotionally-charged Raw, a night where tough-looking wrestlers wept openly for a dear friend.

If you are interested, I think you can catch the repeat tonight or Sat- please check your guide. Otherwise, there will be a Smackdown! tribute too but it will only be aired on TV3 on a later date.

Like it or not, there's a price to pay for doing drugs, alcohol... even smoking. Life is too short to abuse it. If you love your family and cherish your life, please stay as far as possible away from them. Not to forget, regular exercise and sensible eating will help you live longer too.

"It's not everything to me in life, Jesus Christ is my Saviour and what I live for... But He's blessed me by putting the fire within my heart to wrestle. So every time I get that opportunity, I give my body and life. When I'm wrestling I personally carry the responsibility and challenge in my heart to live or die in the ring. And If I were to die in the wrestling ring - I'd die a happy man."

How my Saturday was spent

Instead of practising BODYATTACK® , I practised BODYSLEEP® and woke up at about 10am. This saturday is my first ever OFF DAY(where I neither go to office nor gym) since I started. Of course, my holidays in Bangkok or Penang are not coutned because I still had to do things- this Saturday was the first that I woke up without any agenda planned.

After cleaning my room and watching The Amazing Race, I drove to gf's place to meet up. After lunch, we played around with the new phones and the software on her laptop and since we had nothing planned, I ended up sleeping again for another hour or so at her place. BOY, I MISS AFTERNOON NAP SO MUCH!!!

By about 5, it was time to plan for dinner. Initially I wanted to go to USJ for this restaurant called Satay Vs. Pizza but considering the price of the food there, I'd figured that we could do something else cheaper. So, since we couldn't join the Fitness First gang up enjoying Penang food, we did the next best thing...

KAJANG SATAY!!!!

The restaurant

Of course, I needed gf's navigation since I know nothing am not familiar with Kajang. She told me of this place with generous portion of satay stick near the Kajang Stadium. After missing a turn, we managed to find our way there eventually.

Satay or Sate?

Sate Haji Samuri apparently is the most famous around with 9 branches, 3 in Kajang. We later found out that there is a branch at Sri Petaling which is SOOOO near gf's place. Oh well, maybe can go more often then?

Quite clean the dining area since the satays are BBQ-ed in another area

We were led to a table by a waitress and she promptly took our orders. They actually serve Mee/Nasi/Kuiw Tiew(that's how it was spelt) but we weren't there for anything by the Satays.

They were pretty generous with the peanut sauce- we were give 1 bowl of it(the normal bowl size you get when you order things like koay teow t'ng). The delivery of satays was relatively fast too.

Gosh... I'm drooling again just looking at the pic!

Big skews + big bowl of peanut sauce = CRESCENDOS OF ECSTASY

gf enjoying her satays...

Perhaps I should change my blog to shadeseats.blogspot.com?

Almost finished the sauce

Words fail to express the experience...

Got this sad sms from gf yesterday afternoon:

Why the sms? Because someone sent this to me earlier:

(note: to that person, I'm just pulling your leg... no hard feelings ya...)

Spring cleaning

Today feeling a bit boh-liao in the office. Whole morning, just surfed the net and read newspaper. After lunch, suddenly felt the need to clean up my table.

There you go...

Knowing myself, this serenity will probably last for a few days before the place turns into a war zone again.

Was so looking forward to watch "The Girl From Ipoh" till I got an SMS from the person who's supposed to buy the tickets that no more tickets liao. Man, I wish I could pull someone's goatee out for spoiling my weekend Oh well, have to look for something else to do.

This Saturday is my first without a class-finally managed to release my RPM class in FF Wisma SPK and guess what I am doing in the morning? I'm going to FF Menara Axis to practise BODYATTACK® 50- it's the only time I have to practise....*sigh*

Pizza joint in Batu Feringghi

Last Friday while in Penang, I wanted to bring gf out to a nice dinner and couldn't think of a cheap an appropriate place to go... till I remember this pizza place in Batu Feringghi. I had not been there for almost 5 years and I wasn't sure if the shop was still around- I didn't even know for sure how to get there. Anyhow, it was worth a try.

Fortunately, I could still find the place right after Holiday Inn. From the main road, just drive till you pass the Batu Feringghi police station and make the first turn on the right. After that, keep driving and you'll see the signboard.

We parked the car and walked to Kompleks Bayusenja. Some renovation has been done since my last visit but yeah, the pizza joint was still there.

Don't think this was here before

Besides the pizza joint, the complex also serves seafood and indian food. It looks like the place caters for the local since I hardly see any foreigner there. Most of the people were there for the seafood- must be pretty good then. Perhaps, next trip I'll take my mom and OCD bro there.

Sorry, dunno the name of the joint

A little Indian girl came to our table and asked if we wanted Indian food. She was so C-U-T-E! We had already planned to order pizzas and I felt kinda bad saying "no, thank you" to her.

If you're early, you can have a breathtaking view of the sunset

Anyway, we waster no time in ordering our food. I went for Malaysia Delights, one of those fusion pizzas, while gf order something with pepperoni(can't remember the name- sound so italian!).

Great expectation

And we were not disappointed

All in all, the food was great and the price reasonable- 2 freshly made large pizzas for about RM35. A good place to hang out with your buddies or to simply impress your gf on how good you are at finding great pizzas in Penang. Wonder why I hadn't thought of this place before...
