CNY Review: Things I did during CNY

....................................................................................................................
Mom was supposed to come to KL with eldest bro yesterday, but right before they left Penang, she experienced dizziness, nausea and cold sweat. Upon inspection, the iridologist said that mom had a mild stroke.

She was admitted to the Lam Wah Ee Hospital and the brain scan confirmed the mild stroke. She'll be going for angiogram today.

Update:
The angiogram show a slight blocked artery, but nothing medication can't deal with. Her blood pressure and blood sugar level have since dropped to normal. All praise and glory to God and thanks to all church members and friends who prayed for her.

Tried the other Penang Road cendol

As you can see, the one of the left always has more customers because it's supposed to be better. After blogging about it in November, a couple of readers pointed out that the other one is good too. So I decided to give him a chance this time.

My verdict? Yup, EQUALLY GOOD. It's a pity that this stall is not getting as much publicity though. Look at the difference of the crowd:

Catching up with friends

Basically there were 3 types of catching-up's:

group therapy

Those that fall into this category are people like Willie,Danny, Leslie, Wilson, Yao Hua, Serene, Angeline, Jocelyn, Xe Hui, etc. We gathered for a pot-bless dinner/casino, a birthday gathering, and a Fearless movie night. Didn't get to do much but having group activities sort of save a lot of time.

I also had the opportunity to have dinner with some Fitness First Island Plaza members on Saturday 4 Feb organized by Esmond and Eliza. Another fellow instructor Paul was there. Esmond is recovering from an operation and is itching to get back to gym.

1-on-1

Wei Kheng came back from London. So we managed to meet up on Thursday. It's amazing within a short span of 2 hours, we could go from Baskin-Robbins, to Maxim, and finally to 1-Stop Midlands shopping for DVDs. Haven't spoken to her for a long time but it was fun talking about the good ol' times. Bon voyage BB!

(wanted to post her pic from friendster but decided not to so without her permission)

1-on-1 that turned into group therapy

This is odd. Not that I had planned it but because of circumstances beyond our control, I'm quite acquianted with Jenc's family.

I picked her up from her home for dinner and later went back to claim back some cash visit her mom. When her brother Andy joined in, the conversation quickly switched to gym stuff since he's quite a gym person too. I think Jenc and mom felt a bit left out... got or not?

Jenc's other brother Cajun was there too...

There are a couple of people I was hoping to meet with but unfortunately couldn't...

Market survey

Since I had plenty of time to spare, I had a look at the gym that opened recently. Just walked in and asked to see the coordinator whom I've known from his FF days. Quiet spacious but quite quiet too.

I also went to the copycat FF with "someone's kind assistance"(better not say who lest he/she gets into trouble). Managed to attend BODYPUMP® and BODYCOMBAT®. It must have been the CNY blue as I found myself the only person shouting in the class most of the time.

Peanut soup

Known as "thor tao jin t'ng", I almost forgot about it till Friday night. It's kinda hard to find thor tao jin t'ng stalls nowadays. I only know of 4 stalls: Perak Lane, Kimberly Street(afternoon- dunno still there or not), and 2 in Ayer Itam(one at the roundabout, the other at Reservoir Garden corner kopitiam). Of the 2, I prefer the standalone stall.

When I saw the stall was operating, I was so glad. But, I was disappointed when he told me it was finished. Shouldn't have waited till 11.30pm!!!

The next day I was dining with the FF buddies so I asked my nephew Daryl to buy 3 packets for me and he didn't disappoint me.

Yum-yum!

Visit dad

It's been more than 3 years since he went home...
